The diet is progressing well

I started around 220lbs in late 200509. Right now I'm sitting right at
around 209lbs. The pace isn't breakneck, but the diet is also becoming
surprisingly tolerable.

The progress on excercising 45 minutes per day isn't so good, but then I
didn't expect it to be.

I still haven't bought a bathroom scale yet. I found a $200+ model that
will do what I want (I *think*) but the technical docs aren't available
online. Some freight
scales appear to have RS-232 outputs, but the manufacturers want to sell
you some 'doze-based software to work with them, which makes me wonder if
they're not going to have obfuscated output. *sigh*

"Coke zero", diet progress

This "Coke zero" stuff is surprisingly drinkable. The aftertaste from the aspartame is
nearly bearable. Of course, it's killing
me, but I can live with that.

The 1,600 - 1,800 calorie per day diet is going better than I'd thought it
would. The last time I tried to do this, I was far more miserable than I am
now. Now I'm only mostly miserable.

I've decided to let myself go a little bit on weekends. Not much, mind you.
I'm gonna let weekends slip up to, like, 2,000 - 2,200 calories if I so
choose. A little reward isn't bad, I don't think. I won't stuff myself,
though.

Now, I gotta buy a new scale. I'd love something with an RS-232 out so that
I can hook up a data logging PC and simply weigh myself whenever I want and
have the data automatically logged. I could chart my weight with MRTG... heh
heh. Everything that I'm finding, though, is multiple hundreds of dollars.
That's a little silly for me to try and justify.

The Mexican Food Embassy?

We tried the new Abuelos in
Beavercreek
today.

I was very pleased w/ the food, so much so that I actually spoke to Steph
about it before she asked me. I think that surprised her a little bit, but
I'm not known to speak up about something like that unless it's really good.
I live a life of little enthusiasm, if only because I worry that if I'm too
enthusiastic all the time it won't be exciting when I find something to be
enthusiastic about.

I wish we'd gone earlier, 'cuz now that Steph and I are both dieting, we're
not going to get to eat like this very often.
